Not much going on today

I lowered the Mandarin's nest box, so hopefully they'll use it now and it's only about a foot off the ground. The new Sebright girl has settled in well and gave us an egg this morning. Also the Gold Partridge seem happy in their new home too as the girl gave us an egg as well (she hasn't laid for a couple of weeks)

It's time to stop turning incubator 2 and add water in preparation for the hatch on Thursday, so tomorrow, I have to sort out some brooder space. I think I'll use the new big hamster cage I got from the dump on Saturday, only paid £2 for it, looks nearly new, with a perspex lid, so will keep out drafts and should do the chicks for the first week, then I can move them into one of the bigger brooders. I have advertised the birds I've got for sale on preloved and fridayad;

They are also listed on our website www.horndeanhens.co.uk

We also sold 4 chicks yesterday, 2 Pekins, 1 Sablepoot and a Light Sussex Bantam, have someone coming tomorrow to pick up a Light Sussex Bantam and OEG pullet, so can at least afford to feed the birds this week lol
